Exclamation Women in horror films (1950-today)

I am looking for views and opinions on how you think women are represented on screen in horror films. I am specifically focusing on sexuality and nudity, and want views on how they are represented in these catagories.
Also, i want to know how you think women in cinema have changed since the 1950's and today

Thanks!

i would like to say they are portrayed unrealistically (some great exceptions though) but i'm not a woman, so i wouldn't know. but women do have a whole sub-genre in which they always come out last (wo)man standing: THE SLASHER!

women in horror films are usually the tough protaganist. like for example, hostel 2, texas chainsaw masacare (original), carrie, scream, etc. They usually are the strong charcter who fight then men. but to get really freudian about it, they have to use falic objects to win, for example, a gun or a knife.
